Early history of Thailand Archeological evidence has shown that the contemporary area of Thailand was as early inhabited as more than 20,000 years ago. At that time, the dense jungle of the Chaophraya basin and on the malayan peninsula made it too difficult for food supply, so the first settlement took place in the Northeast on the Khorat plateau. The ancient place of Ban Chiang was early as 3600 BC settled. It is one of the 'cradles of civilization' as the funds showed that this place was probably the oldest place of rice agriculture in Asia. Further funds displayed that here even the Bronze Age might have started. as tools, weaponry and jewelry were much earlier created as in the Middle East or in China. Further funds of Bronze Age civilizations were made at Ban Nor Wat, Ban Na Di, Ban Lum Kao, Non Nok Tha, Non Pa Wai, Nong Nor and Iron Age funds at Noen U-Loke, Non Mak La and Non Muang Kao. |
